EFFY'S BOOK REVIEW: FORBIDDEN

"It's horrible, being ashamed of someone you care about; , it eats away at you. And if you let it get to you, if you give up the fight and surrender, eventually that shame turns to hate."

Incest (n.) | 'in,sest | - sexual relations between people classed as being too closely related to marry each other.
- the crime of having sexual intercourse with a child, parent, sibling, or grandchild.

The first time I come across this book on goodreads, I thought man, I really want to read this book. I really want to read it it hurts, practically. I know the topic is strong and I think if I was the 16 year old not open-minded me, I wouldn't have wanted to read this but now I'm 19 I swear I'm glad I found a shop on instagram that has it.

It's kind of not appropriate for young readers (I guess below 16?) to read this book because it contains intimate scenes that might you know create negative thoughts for the young ones when they read it so I think they shouldn't read it until they're 18 or something. You may think it doesn't change anything but still.

Anyways..

This is Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma

SPOILERS!! SPOILERS!! SPOILERS!!

It's about a sixteen year old never been kissed girl named Maya and a seventeen year old gorgeous boy named Lochan who fell in love with each other. But here's the thing.. they're siblings!

Siblings. How will that work? Will that even work?

I've never read any book this pure, beautiful and strong at the same time like especially the last part because I swear I had goosebumps and I cried like really hard like give-me-a-minute-I-can't-talk-because-I'm-sobbing kind. I know some of you wouldn't like it because you'd probably think it's gross to make out with your brother or sister but if it's as innocent as this one.. you'd probably understand and who knows you might even like it. *shrugs*

As much as I want to talk about this book I really really don't want to spoil it so

THINGS ABOUT THIS BOOK:
1. I liked how the author wrote it in a very very poetic way. Like the way she (or the characters) talk(s) about a scene.. beautiful. So beautiful. *slow claps*
2. It's really good that she (the author) showed both sides of the character like it's not just Maya or Lochan talking all throughout the book but it's Maya and Lochan talking, simultaneously because not all the books do that like usually it's just only one character is talking.
3. I think Lochan's a pussy though. But hey, I understand him. I really do. I just think he's a pussy.
4. I like how it showed that in this world, there really is no such thing as perfect family.

In real life, nothing's ever perfect. But I myself think that we should all be brave to do the things we want to do and never ever let the world spoil us because its better that way than having so many 'what-ifs' bullshit the rest of our lives. Anyway, why would anyone want that?
